Cructicus Torquatos
Photographed in suburban habitat SEQ
The Grey Butcherbird is a regular visitor around our home in southeast Queensland. It’s a confident and slightly cheeky bird that hunts insects and small lizards in the garden, and we note, is also very fond of peanuts.
Behavior
When doors are left open, it isn’t shy about stepping inside to see what food might be available. It’s clear, flute-like call is one of the most familiar and pleasant sounds in the neighborhood.
Habitat
Common in suburban gardens, open woodland and parkland around Southeast Qld
